Concertlecture about the first book of  Bachs Welltempered Clavier book I (WTC I), that the composer finished 300 years ago (1722).

As an introduction to this masterpiece it’s name and the construction of the Fugue will be explained.

Furthermore the origin of the WTC will be discussed as well it’s musical construction, the intentions Bach had in composing the WTCI and the influece it had on later generations of composers. Finally Marcel will perform a number of Preludes and Fugues of the WTCI
