Concertlecture around ‘De Vergelding’ (The Revenge) by Dutch author Jan Brokken, with Eleonore Pameijer (flute).
Jan Brokken will speak about his succesfull book ‘de Vergelding’ (2013). Passages from the book will alternate with music by persecuted jewish and non-jewish composers from the interbellum (Johanna Bordewijk-Roepman, Leo Smit, Dick Kattenburg, Paul Hermann, Marius Flothuis, Rosy Wertheim). Just as the history about the Dutch village of Rhoon during World War II, described in this book, also these musical works have almost been fallen into oblivion during many decades.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS CONCERTLECTURE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19 – HOPEFULLY IT WILL TAKE PLACE IN SPRING 2021
