11:30: Concert lecture with Dutch writer Marja Vuijsje
Marcel Worms and Marja Vuijsje are both fascinated by music from the interbellum period and in particular by classical composers who were influenced by new styles such as American jazz and Argentinian tango. While writing her book ‘Ons kamp’, Marja Vuijsje listened a lot to the music from New York and Berlin from her father’s childhood.
With the music of Viktor Ullmann, Dick Kattenburg, Leo Smit, George Gershwin, Erwin Schulhoff, Alexandre Tansman and Szymon Laks, played by Marcel Worms, Marja Vuijsje will speak about the childhood of her father as she described it in her critically acclaimed book ‘Ons Kamp’ (Our Camp)
